The Urkesh Eco-Archaeological Park

"The modern face of an ancient city" is the title of a pilot project supported by the UCLA Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research under the program Transdisciplinary Seed Grant Forum.
The project was funded for the two consecutive academic years 2011-12 and 2012-2013.
In its current format, the website serves as a repository for work in progress, accessible to the project staff and to reviewers.

The ram in the upper left is from a seal impression found in the excavations, and dating to about 2200 B.C.
